WORKPLACE SAFETY / ACTIVE THREAT MITIGATION & RESPONSE TRAINING

An active threat/shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area. In most cases, there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active threat situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Typically, the immediate deployment of law enforcement is required to stop the shooting and mitigate harm to victims. Because active threat situations are often over before law enforcement arrives on the scene, individuals and organizations must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation. Force Training Institute’s full spectrum approach facilitates your organization’s ability to effectively deal with this unfortunate reality before, during, and after an active shooter event.

This training is for everyone! The life-saving training has already saved countless lives and successfully stopped and or prevented several different active threat events.

This dynamic scenario-based training course provides security personnel with the relevant information to detect, deter, and deny active killers access to the client’s facility while also enhancing the safety of employees and customers in the immediate area of the threat. This course will move your security staff beyond the classroom and into the real-world environment allowing them to practice essential and effective strategies in the absence of law enforcement resources.

7 Minutes to Safety™ for Non-Security Staff

The majority of active shooter incidents are over before law enforcement resources ever arrive on scene. This two-part course dynamic scenario-based training will instruct your staff on the appropriate responses to take during an active shooter incident and then afford them the opportunity for practical application. This course will be custom designed based upon your facility and employee’s needs using the Department of Homeland Security’s approved strategy “Run, Hide, Fight.”

Pre-incident Indicators (Identifying Concealed Weapons)

Learn valuable insight regarding the identification of, common but easily missed, pre-incident indicators derived from actual incidents or thwarted events. The ability to detect, deter, or deny an Active Shooter/Workplace violence incident is life-saving. The training not only teaches the participant how to identify the indicators, but how to report them, and what to do next. The training examines recent active shooter and workplace violence events with the objective of identifying critical pre-incident indicators to bolster workplace safety.

Active Shooter Response Training Documentation

Is your training defensible? Documentation of a critical incident response and/or documentation of a critical incident response training are of extreme importance because they are the official version of what happened during the event, and they may be used in court. The documentation must be thorough and comprehensive including all details of the incident and/or the training. Documentation should be done in a timely manner and needs to be supported by policy and training considerations. Our goal is to help your organization streamline a protocol for documenting events or we would be honored to provide a documentation service for you.

Employee Rescue

Law enforcement may be the first responders that are called in to an emergency situation; however, security officers and employees are almost always first on scene. There is a high probability that the people who are closest to the incident will have to act. The Officer/Employee Down Rescue training prepares you to react in a manner that may save the life of someone else or your own.

This training specifically addresses personnel who respond to violent incidents where other officers or victims are injured and require rescue and/or first aid when seconds count. This curriculum includes emergency first-aid, movement, tactics and team cooperation for rescue in a hostile environment.
